Tuesday’s Cigar Tips (How to cut your cigar)

As an avid cigar smoker, we all come up with different techniques and routines that work best for us, before we light-up, and during our smoking sessions. Therefore, today’s cigar tip will discuss how to cut your cigar.

How to cut your cigar:

An easy way to get a perfect cut out-of-your cigar, you want to always use a good double-bladed cigar cutter, to get a nice and precise cut. You want to avoid jagged lines, which could make the wrapper peel, and/or cause loosened tobacco to enter into your mouth, once you start smoking. If the cut is not clean, this can become ignoring during your smoking session, because you will need to keep brushing off the cigar, to remove any loosened particles, or removing particles from your tongue that may have entered your mouth.

The best way to achieve an even cut is to lay the cutter flat on a table, place the cigar in the cutter, straight up, and snip. This method makes it easy to not only get a straight cut but with most cutters, it nips just the right amount off the head of your cigar. Often times, even the most experienced cigar smoker can still not properly align the cigar in the cutter, and mistakenly cut too much off at the top, or worse, repeatedly using a dull cutter, which is really bad at cutting the cigar, nicely.

Also, there are many different types of cigar cutters that will give you an even cut without placing it on the table flat. They have a built-in backing, which prevents you from overcutting, these perfect-cut-cutters comes in different variations and prices.

Below you will find a few pictures, to show you some examples of cigar cutters.
